At the beginning of 2018, I made the commitment to to give back to the community that our families, friends, and clients live. It started with the Dress For Success Event (which was a wonderful event THANK YOU for participating), then volunteering at the Seattle Girls School Annual Fundraiser, participating in the West Seattle Wine Walk, Volunteering for the Green Home Tour as a host, and the list goes on.
Recently, I’ve decided to donate much needed school supplies to schools that were in the neighborhood of homes that I sold. I called on a few of my teacher friends to ask what they needed as the school year progressed. The answer was astounding. Turns out, all 5 (from different schools), said they run out of the same things by April. Supplies include:
- Hand Sanitizer
- Copy Paper
- Glue Sticks
These are basic learning necessities here. It’s unbelieveable that our schools continue to be underfunded and unable to have the supplies they need for our children’s education. So, as the sales are raging on, I hope you can find the extra $10 to pick up another box of tissues, ream of paper, or box of pencils.
I’ve put a donation box at the Windermer West Seattle lobby for drop off. If it’s difficult to drop off, let me know and I can come pick up supplies from your work or home.
Once we get a months’ worth of donations, we will deliver to West Seattle neighborhood schools. Beneficiaries will be Roxhill Elementary, Sanislo, Arbor Heights, and Highland Park Elementary.
